In the medical industry use of drugs has been the main methods of curing a disease. Most of the times people use painkillers and antidepressants to relieve their pain. These pains may be from broken limbs neck or even the skull. However, fractures are very hard to notice, and many times people end up with serious complications as a result of the unnoticed fracture. The results are usually fast and accurate. They pose the minimal threat as they use small radiations. Some radiations may be left in the body after the procedure, but they would wear off bit by bit until they are no more. However, when one is exposed to the machine for a long time or frequently they may develop cancer.

The conventional x-ray machines used chemicals to mount images on the films for viewing. These chemicals are dangerous and a significant threat to the environment. Friendlier machines have been invented to help mitigate this problem. These are the digital x-rays. They are mostly applicable to dental procedures.

Children can undergo several of this kind of diagnosis without any serious effect because their cells and tissues are still developing and can be replaced easily in case of damage. However, this is not the same for adult individuals. Unborn children can be significantly affected by x-ray, and pregnant women are advised against using this type of diagnosis. If a dental diagnosis is necessary, then they are advised to wear protective clothing such as lead apron and thyroid collar to protect themselves.

Since their invention, these devices have given an accurate and definite picture of a medical condition in many individuals getting rid of guesswork that existed before. This has given the main cause of many illnesses and appropriate approach to these circumstances.
